Oh, The Horror
I’ve had some requests for belly pics. I thought it would be fun to do a comparison of this pregnancy to my first and Oh Dear God was it a mistake to look at the old photos. Not fun. Torture. Now I need water ice. Here is a picture of me at 24 weeks pregnant with Sam:
Now here is a recent picture of me at 24 weeks. I realize The Belly is obscured, but in this case that’s really not a problem seeing as it is freakin’ huge anyway. Dude…Dude. At least my son is hugging me in an attempt to console.

The second picture is so much better cuz Sam’s lovin on you! Love it. And, honey… I got H.u.g.e. with my 2nd and 3rd pregnancies. Basketball sized is an understatement. I totally understand the bigger belly with second babies. But don’t you prefer looking obviously pregnant to just a little heavier? I hated just looking thick.

I was one of those enviable women: I was bigger at 24 weeks with my pregnancy with my first than with my second. Having said that though, I was extremely ill with my first so I would eat all of the time because I was scared that the baby wasn’t getting anything ….. (okay … probably a lame excuse to gorge right?)
i feel your pain. i’m 21 weeks going on 22 and i am a HOUSE. SO much bigger than my first pregnancy. it’s embarrasing to tell people how far away my due date is!
Yep, I am soooo much larger this time around than last. It’s shocking really…

Aw, love both! Big round, beautiful belly. I miss that! I know, when we’re pregnant we don’t really appreciate it. I’m telling you, enjoy!

And it’s true, bigger the second time than the first. Enough said.
My sister is about 16 weeks and is worried because she says she’s so huge. Worried about twins.
I wasn’t sure if it would be kind to tell her that most likely it is just her genes, that she’s probably just huge with no apparent reason because that’s how it is for the women in our family.
When I would get depressed at the size of the belly, I would literally deny its existence. Refusing to look in the mirror for a day or two, however long it took to get over the shocking bigness. I would of course constantly rub and talk to the baby, but the belly, no love for that! At least there is an end date to the bulge.

I think you look great, too, and it’s a well-known fact that second pregnancies look way bigger than first on most women. Your skin is more stretchy or something. I know that was true in my case! Either way, I’d take looking obviously pregnant over just looking like I’ve been eating too much ice cream anyday!
