Oh, Martha
*Edits added with *s below as I live blog the event.
Finally, finally I am up and running, blogging live from the Martha Stewart Show! It has been quite a morning. Seriously. It’s not my story to tell, but suffice it to say that I am the only one from our group of three to actually make it this morning. Tears have been shed. Sleep has been lost. And I am the only representative from our partay here today. So please join me as I live blog the show until my computer battery dies. I’ll just keep updating this post as we go along, so be sure to refresh. And I believe the show will air on TV around 2:00, but check your listings. *Apparently the show is airing live NOW in some places.
Right now we are listening to the warm-up guy, waiting for Martha, and he keeps telling us we’ll be taking something home today:) I’m seated in the special “with laptops” section, which is expected to be shot often and used in the show.
*Oh my goodness I was just on camera! I’m sitting in a row where there are three of us next to each other wearing red-ish shirts. 3rd row, center-ish.
* They just gave us a calendar from Cute Overload.
* We just got a book called “A Year of Mornings.” Perez Hilton is coming up. Commercial break. Music is quite loud and raucous. Not very Martha like:)
* Tips from Perez:
1) Gotta get a gimmick/find a niche.
2) Be prepared to work hard (he works 15-16 hours a day on his blog).
3) Don’t be afraid to network/ask for things.
I’m starving. For the love of God let them make some food and give it to us.
*Ok, on to food now. Guy from MattBites is here. He’s gonna make cookies with dulce de leche in the center. Please feed them to me, Matt. They’re using on of those mixer thingies that I don’t have. I think most of the audience members here are food bloggers. Everyone is typing away…I’m just sitting and watching now:) Nope, they didn’t feed us the cookies:(
* Design Blogger next: Eddie Ross. He’s wearing…an interesting outfit:)
* By the way, I do have photos but will have to upload them later because I had to turn my phone off before I could send them to myself.
Martha’s back:
Political bloggers next: Ben Smith and Jonathan Martin. Did Martha just say “Sharon Palin”?
* Ha! She just corrected herself!
* Heh. Does McCain have a blog? Heh! Does he email? Heh! Go Martha. (The answers to those were a big fat “no,” by the way).
* Gardening blogger next. Margaret Roach of A Way To Garden. The blog is lovely. Good looking book, too. Will we get one? . . . Not sure. Couldn’t hear the last bit, but I don’t think so.
“Gardening” studio:
* I think they might be giving us some hot dogs as part of another show or something . . . they’re about to show the whole audience:) Hiiii! Oh, that was the back of my head!
* OMG! We all just got an HP wireless printer!
Bye ya’ll! Gotta go take pictures to be uploaded later!

I’m glad you were able to make it. I’ll be looking for you.
I am so excited for you! I wish I could’ve come. Looking forward to watching the show this afternoon.
15-16 hours on my blog. Yeah right.
No granola bars in your purse? Bummer.
I get the show at 10:00. I saw you smiling, clapping, with computer in lap. Must so watch some more now.
Cool! So if you are live blogging, are we live commenting?
I would say that YOU are live commenting, D:)
I kind of like his outfit. His little bow tie is cute! He kinda looks like a young Kiefer Sutherland.
Some nice shots of you. You look great. The camera guy must like the three women in red. I am watching on TiVO. Just caught up to real time.
Hi! This is Rachel from Cupcakes Take the Cake - we’re also in the audience. So fun!
What fun Beth! Hoep they feed you some snacks…if not mid-show (maybe they think chewing is not telegenic?
), following the production at least!
Can hardly wait to hear all the scandalous (please tell me there’s some scandalous!) details! (McCain’s daughter is a blogger…when my kids can take over, I’ll likely let ‘em!
WOW! A printer. That’s worth getting up so early for. Saw you at least 8 times. Even one shot from the back when they panned the audience. You look really thin, even on camera. Have a great trip home and can’t wait to hear what happened to the other two women.
And here’s some live blogging from home:
Played all morning. Went to the big playground that’s a little longer drive away (wanted some down time in the car). Sam played with a girl named Sarah. He said he missed her and wanted to see her again when we left. Just got back. Going to feed them and put Robby down for a nap soon. Hope you are having fun!
A new printer? Sweet! I was LITERALLY thinking about how we needed to hook our printer up to the wireless router LAST NIGHT, and wondering if our printer was capable of doing that. My psychic powers are most impressive.
AAAYYYIEEE!!! How exciting! A new printer and a hot dog?!? You rock, girl. Glad you had such a great time. Now, what did you wear?
I’m so jealous! Glad you’re having such a fabulous time.
This is super exciting! You won a printer!! Yeah!!
I just got home from my appointment. Looking forward to scoping the audience for you.
OMG…I have been waiting for this post! Awesome! What happened to the others! Will they have the show online?
I still can’t believe I missed going! Wish I was there. Sounds awesome. And a free wireless printer! Even better.
Okay, have to go…turning green with jealousy!
sounds so fun!!! cant wait to see your pics. and, will defintiely tune in at 2pm to check it out. how exciting!
dude! you are there! how cool is that???
and how jealous am i of your free stuff.
very. very.
Beth!! I saw you on TV!!! You looked amazing! Red was a VERY good color choice. I can’t believe how much camera time you got. I bet there were tons of people in the audience who didn’t get one camera at all. I can’t wait to show Peter when he gets home!
Martha’s is just about to come on here. I will be glued to the tv and looking for you.
How cute is your husband, leaving a comment? Glad you’re having fun!
I saw you!!!!
this is the coolest thing. Seriously, you are SOOOOO awesome…
Neither of the other two women who were going have put up a blog. WHAT HAPPENED?
You are on all the time! You look great. Although I can’t tell did you chose the skirt or the pants?
Jenn
How exciting is this!!!!! You lucky girl. Dying to see this episode but clearly at 4 PM EST it now looks like I’ve missed it. Such is life being a mom it never goes as planned - clearly as i’m wondering and worrying what happened to the rest of your party that they couldn’t make it. Uggh. what a bummer for them and you - but i’m thrilled you were able to do it! can’t wait for pics! love the tips from perez…. i want you to write more about him and what he said later! please do share!
WOW! I totally saw you on the TV. A bunch of times. And I couldn’t figure out WHY Sarah wasn’t with you. I’m on the phone with her now. How awful for them! OMG. I’m so glad at least one of you got to go.
And a printer! Lucky duckies!! Glad you had fun.
Ahhh - yes, back home finally. So glad you could represent us. I working on the blog now. It will be a classic.
Hey Beth-
I missed the show today, but they are re-airing it on FLN (I have no idea what network that is, but it’s Channel 122 on Comcast Phila). I just went to MSN tv listings and searched. Tomorrow at 8:00. Glad you made it and had fun -Sarah

Enjoyed meeting you yesterday. Despite the disaterous beginning, I think things ended on a positive note. I’m glad that you got into the show. Sounds like it was a great time.
P.S. Your boys are adorable:)
[...] know what I think the best part of yesterday was? Getting this book. And it’s funny - I was so caught up in what was going on during the [...]
have you seen “whatever, martha?” it’s martha’s daughter and her best friend. They sit around and watch old martha shows and comment on what’s going on.
they’re pretty hilarious, but I can’t watch when the boys are around, they get bleeped out a lot and when they don’t get bleeped they say things I just don’t want to have to explain to my kids yet.
