Bag Reveal And Now You (A New Meme by Me)
All right, after receiving a thorough flogging regarding my choice to not reveal “The Bag,” I’ve decided to let you have it today. Before that though, allow me to give you my reasons for not showing a picture/revealing the designer in the first place.
1) After that whole story involving Prada and designer diaper bags and all that schtuff, I ended up getting a no-namer, which is rather anti-climactic. That’s how it happened though. As I said in the story, the bags I found in the expensive, well-lit section just didn’t suit me. The price tags didn’t either, I suppose. So after all that, I ended up getting a “Franco Sarto” bag, which I think might be a euphemism for “Macy’s brand,” because I can’t even find pictures of the “Franco Sarto” bags on the Macy’s website. Oh wait . . . ok, there is a Franco Sarto website, but my bag isn’t on it. I feel a little better though. Not Macy’s store brand after all. And honestly, once I hit the “Franco” section, I knew I was in the right place. I liked a lot of them and knew it was only a matter of finding the right one.
2) Again, after all that debate, the bag I loved ended up costing $45. Again, anti-climactic considering I was in turmoil over how high I’d go. You gotta love after-Christmas sales though, right?
3) Finally, and this should be obvious, but I’m afraid you’ll think it’s ugly. I freely admit I have a thing for ugly bags/accessories/stuff. You know, like cool-ugly or cute-ugly. And this fits that description, I think, so obviously I am afraid you are all going to be like, “No, Beth. That’s not cool-ugly. That’s just ugly . . . ugly.” (Ugly is starting to not look like a word anymore.)
Anyway, here it is. Be kind. $45, remember?

So? Good? Ugly? I suppose it doesn’t really matter, because I love my precious green guy.

Hell, let’s make it a meme. I’m tagging you beyotches. Here’s what you have to do:
1) Post a picture of whatever bag you are carrying as of late. No, you cannot go up to your closet and pull out that cute little purse you used back before you had kids. I want to know what you carried today (or the last time you left the house - it’s freaking snowing here so you know I’m in my velour pants today and the green precious is sitting on the steps).
2) I want to know how much it cost:) And this is not to judge, because I’m honestly telling you I was ready to put down some cash; I just got lucky. This is for entertainment purposes only. So spill it. And if there is a story to go along with how you obtained it, I’d love to hear it.
3) Tag some chicks. And link back to this post so people know why the heck you’re showing everyone your diaper bag/non-diaper bag.

Love, love, love!!! I love your bag…. I wouldn’t use “ugly” in a good OR bad way to describe it. It looks cool and/or hip to me. And I love that you spent $45 on a bag that you love. And I love that you tagged me because have I got some unbelievable bag stories for you!!!! How’s that for a teaser!??!
I love your bag! And you love your bag and that is all that matters. I have four purses/bags that I use on a rotating basis. And I have posted pictures of all of them at some point I think. But because I like your blog (and not at all b/c my blogging well is oh so dry) I will do a whole post just for you. Tomorrow.

I like your bag, it’s so not ugly. What does this say about me? (besides not being into bags or shopping) - I’m not using a bag right now. I just slip my license, credit card and chapstick into a pocket and I’m ready to go. It helps that there are no more diapers around here. I was thinking about pulling out my most recent bag purchace before traveling - a small black leather backpack type that was $25.00. OK, maybe not real leather.

I’m a lover - not a hater. Green is my color of choice, no matter what the article in question may be. Handbag? Green. Cute shirt? Totally green. Granite for the kitchen countertops? Okay. I guess you got me there. But the bag? The bag is way cute in all its green glory!

Green (especially khaki or olive) is definitely my color of choice. I am absolutely envious of this bag, and I would have paid double what you did for it. As classy (bwah ha ha) as I am from 9-5, I love the cargo look from 5-9. Everything I love is green and covered in pockets. Much to the chagrin of my husband, who is learning to love the fact that I dress like an 18 year old frat boy (NOT that your bag looks like an 18 year old frat boy) after 14 years. You know, since we were actually 18 and it was almost acceptable.

As I have said before, I love your bag. The shade of green is so cute! And so many compartments! For organization! But the problem I have with many compartments is I forget which one is for what thing. Of course this is better than having none, when the only thing I can find is old gum wrappers and the keys are lost forever in the bottom of my bag.

I was wondering do you have outlets near you?? We have some awesome designer stores near us. I used to wear a lot of Coach bags but then it seemed like I saw Coach EVERYWHERE and I wanted to have something different, but not a huge price tag. LOL So I ventured to our outlet mall and visited the Kate Spade store. Gotta love these bags. Anywho, I bought a purse, wallet, and little credit card holder thingy all for $150. I know it sounds like a lot but for three items.
The good thing is that I had a $100 Visa gift card that could be used anywhere. And so out of pocket was $50.

I just stumbled onto your blog and I love it! I especially love this “bag” post (and the corresponding one on the Philly Mom blog). Two things I want to share:
1. Franco Sarto is an actual name brand. I love FS shoes and get them at Nordstrom (and sometimes, if I’m lucky, at TJ Maxx). I didn’t know FS made bags, but I can attest to the awesomeness of the shoes!
2. I am too embarrassed to show my current bag. My Hubby knew I was coveting it, but I told him I refused to splurge (that much) and buy it for myself. My self discipline paid off. He rewarded me by giving me that same bag as a gift for our anniversary! I love that guy!
