Friday Links - Green, Gardening, and Michelle Obama

Because I’ve had about 3 hours of sleep, I think it best to send you elsewhere today. Here are some of my favorite posts and articles I’ve read this week, many of them courtesy of Hubby.

Michelle Obama and Healthful Eating - All of you who have read or were excited about this book I think will really love this article from the NY Times.

Pioneer Woman on Gardening - Oh my, I love this post. The pictures, what she says, it’s so inspiring.

Five Beginner’s Steps to a Greener Home - I think next in store for us is the gray water. And how have we not done the soda bottle in the toilet yet?

SouleMama on Morning Art - We’ve been doing a whole lot of art around these parts lately - morning, noon, and night. But there is something really relaxing and wonderful about having it start our day. I love this idea of setting out a project at night and watching them gravitate toward it the next morning.

  1. You are so good at linking! I should do more of that - sharing from good blogs (like yours!) I like your texture picture too.

    Have a great weekend.

  2. Look into state laws regarding the use of gray water. It’s illegal to use gray water in Colorado. It’s also illegal to capture rain water. I’m not sure what enforcement is like these days, but it’s a big no-no around here. It sounds like a ludicrous law, but I understand why it’s on the books. Water rights are serious business.

Ahhh, morning art would be lovely, but my mornings are defined by a different kind of art…the art of keeping it together while I wrangle children toward the ultimate goal of getting to school on time.

  3. I hadn’t seen that NYT article! Michelle Obama is my new goddess.

  4. loved the soule mama link — hey you are the one that turned me on to her! she rocks.

I had no idea about the gray water and we will definitely need to do the bottle in the toilet. Now I need to get my hands on a bottle of soda!

  5. Even I do the gray water and have a large coffee can in the toilets. Have a good weekend.
