A Week In a Box
One week, seven days, 168 hours. SO. MUCH. STUFF. Seriously, I feel like we’ve had so many activities in the past week. This is the condensed, “Best Of” version.
We start with Sam’s field trip to a local farm, which happened to take place on his birthday. I think he might have thought the whole thing was for him. Fine with me. He rode a horse for the first time and fed the animals.
The Killers concert was the next day. It was great. We were in the 4th row. Yeah. Awesome. And I didn’t even feel *that* old. We returned to find out the kids had given their sitter a horrible time when it was time to go to sleep. She was quite frazzled. I suppose one night won’t really hurt anyone though - they all survived.
Sam’s Birthday party was over the weekend. It was a crazy space party where he was totally overwhelmed and had multiple meltdowns. At one point I remember him saying, “No! No more of these games!” I wish I could include more pictures but I don’t feel like I should put up those that include other people’s children on the blog. So cake shots will have to do. I rocked the Earth cake, if I do say so myself.
Mother’s Day was lovely. I planted the carrots and a few protective Marigolds. We played in the yard and recovered from the huge weekend. I also made a strawberry rhubarb crisp with rhubarb from our CSA share, which is wonderful (both the CSA and the crisp). I only got a picture before I added the “crisp” part though, because once it was baked everyone was freaking out and screaming to eat it, so there was just no time. NOTIMEFORPICTURES - WEWANTDESSERTNOWNOWNOW!
Also, Hubby got me a breadmaker for Mother’s Day which I am loving, and wonderful Kate sent me a few breadmaker cookbooks, because she’s a rock star and bakes her own now. (Thank you, Kate!)
And finally, in that last one, Sam and I are at his “Mother’s Day Tea” that his school had for us. In it, you will see my token un-showered scarf hair-do, as well as my bra strap. Enjoy.

it all looks and sounds wonderful!
The killers are coming here in the fall and I am hopeful!
Your boys are seriously cute, if I’ve not said that before. They ARE!
That cake was fabulous, you’re right. And the strawberry/rhubarb crisp. And breadmaker. You are on quite the cooking theme!
call me dated, but I’m actually kinda a fan of a peeking out bra-strap. I blame Madonna and Cindi.
Let’s make that date we keep putting off!
Good god in heaven Brandon Flowers is beautiful…
Sigh.
Great pictures. Looks like you’ve all been busy. You totally rocked the earth cake AND I think you look AMAZING in that photo of you and Sam. You look all glowing and fit and happy.
