You Capture - Still Life on a Rainy Day

When I stopped by I Should Be folding Laundry this morning to remind myself of what this week’s challenge was, I was disappointed when I saw it: “Still Life.” And on her post she had lovely pictures of her home, bright, cheerful, and clean. I looked around my own house and just thought, “What could I possibly take a picture of in here? My sink full of dishes? The toys scattered all over the floor?” Not to mention the fact that it is the dreariest of days, lending virtually no light to anything I might find, should I be so lucky.

Then I noticed something I’d been overlooking. There’s still a little life leftover from yesterday . . .

I actually kind of like the drops of rain on the outside of the window.

    Oh, Beth, do I have a little secret for you. This morning, when I took those photos, it was so cloudy, dark and rainy outside. My room was a disaster, so I did a quick clean up and some of it, I even just placed in a laundry basket…I almost didn’t know what to shoot because of the mess and the darkness, but I’m glad I persevered and I’m even happier that you participated today! Wonderful captures!

    I thought the same thing when looking at Beth’s captures. My rooms never look like that! Ha. Good to hear that she is really like us after all! :)
