It’s Just So Swiney
Well, it’s a good thing we had that wonderful day over the weekend, because now we’re all sick. Doctor has said he believes it’s the dreaded H1N1, and we’d already come to that conclusion. No one is having a terrible, terrible reaction, but Hubby sure does have it pretty bad. And it lasts forever, I tell you.
I don’t think I know what day it is, to be honest. We’re just sort of hanging out here in our jammies, with wonderful friends bringing dinner and supplies, leaving stuff by our door and then running. And rightly so. This thing is incredibly contagious, as Hubby has confirmed that several of his coworkers are now home as well.
I have many moments, though, where I am just so incredibly thankful that it’s not worse for any of us. That moment where you realize your child or husband has Swine Flu is pretty horrifying. And the next few days bring new panic with each new symptom or off-behavior. I know many people think the media has taken off on the severity of the disease and of course it has to some extent, but I actually do indirectly know someone who died of complications from it, and this was a healthy adult with no risk factors. For most it’s not much worse than any other bad seasonal virus, but for some, well, it really is.
Right now, I’m just glad that we’re only hanging out in our jammies, being sick.

Take care! I’m sorry to hear it got you, too.
We know several people who died, but all of the cases we’ve heard of were also due to other health issues. I am so sorry and sad to hear this…
Everyone we know who has had it (it is a SHEER miracle we’ve avoided it) has said the same thing… Feel better, you guys!
feel better!!!
I am so glad you have friends to bring you things- hope all is well soon!
Steph
We have it, too, ick. I hope you are all feeling better soon!
I hope you all feel better soon!
Wow. Yeah. I’m glad you guys are alright and that you have amazing friends to help you out. At least you’ll have it over with and it won’t be looming over your heads.
Ahh it suck to be sick. I’m sure you will all be better soon.

My sister’s pediatrician told my niece, as she was being diagnosed with it and crying because, Swine Flu! Ack! (She’s 9) that there was no need to cry (she was bawling) because it “isn’t as deadly as we initially thought.”
This? Cause my niece to go into full hysteria mode.
My sister is switching pediatricians.

I cannot believe that pediatrician! ……No, wait. Yes i can.
He was absent the day they taught how to be thoughtful and caring
with your little patients…He might as well have been a surgeon. In my experience, they are the worst.
