Holiday Awesomeness
I think I made my last trip to the arts and crafts store today, hopefully. And with that, I believe my shopping is done. There are still many projects to create, at least one more trip to the post office, and much, MUCH baking to be done. There’s a whole lot of nagging of the husband, of course, as he is responsible for the selection of gifts for the array of dudes in our family (by dudes I mean the assortment of brothers, of which there are FIVE between us). And then there’s still more wrapping . . . Oh, and the cards. The cards have yet to be sent. Or stamped, or labeled, or written, for that matter. All right, so I’m not done. Not even close.
But I like to think I have it under control. I refuse to get stressed out around the holidays, since that’s so against the point - to be stressed over gift-giving? Not good. So we’ll just continue on with our constant, steady, festive pace, and try to enjoy it all as it goes.

This time of year stresses me OUT for lots of reasons.
Our response is to do almost nothing for the holiday. I’m not saying it’s the right thing to do, really, but it works for us.
That said, I am SO looking forward to shopping for my nephew. I’ll see him two weeks from today for the first time since Sept. 2006.
He’ll be 11 days shy of his FIFTH birthday. It will be the first time he’s opened a gift I’ve given him in front of me.
Can. Not. WAIT!
I have my cards done. That’s all. Well, not true… my shopping is done too. BUT I haven’t begun baking or friend gifts (which I make)… so I think you’ve probably one upped me.
It sounds like you are doing a lot of homemade projects which are lovely but so much work. You are braver than I! Why must husbands be nagged? No one needs to nag us? All Peter has to do is get my stocking stuffers and yet, it’s a terrible hassle. I’m thinking I may just take my stocking down to save him the trouble.
Merry Christmas, hon!
Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas
Mike
