Signs of the Season
I love April. Love May too.
We’ve been watching a Robin build her nest right outside our living room window in a Rhododendron. She worked hard. And then she sat. (Sorry, this photo was taken through our screen window.)
She’s been sitting there for a few weeks now, through the wind and some massive rain. She’s got good reason though.
I wonder how long it takes Robin eggs to hatch…we’re all very excited. And I just can’t get over that gorgeous color!

I don’t know about other areas, but around here most farmer’s markets are opening tomorrow! Some farms even have open houses that are open to the public to come see what they do. You can bet that’s where we’ll be; that or in our own garden. Goodness I have a LIST of things we need to do out there!
If you are interested in finding your own farmer’s market (maybe because you are really looking forward to participating in From Dirt To Dinner ..hint…hint) then this is a great website to help you start to locate some nearby markets - LocalHarvest.org.

Lastly, pictures of my tulips, which have already withered since I took these photos. Just another sign of how quickly the season goes by.

Uh oh…I just found out that tomorrow is also Free Comic Book Day. Looks like my husband and I will be going head-to-head again.

YES! I hadn’t told you about that yet.
Your yard looks like Easter! All those gorgeous spring colors! You won’t find that in a comic book, that’s for sure. =>
heeeee! we’ll have to post about our baby birds when they arrive.
i was mortified the other day when one of BB’s friends picked up one of the eggs!!!! eek! mrs. robin dosn’t seem bothered, though. she didn’t kick that one out of the nest or anything. thank goodness!
and yes. that color. it’s just the most beautiful thing.
Gorgeous! I just love the photo of the nest with those gorgeous eggs. And I am SO participating in Dirt to Dinner!!
Love your tulips and those eggs are amazing. Can’t wait to see baby hummingbirds!
