Here’s Why I ROCK!
Today is Hubby’s birthday. We are now the same number of years old. Oh, how I hate to be “older” than my husband. That does not rock. What does rock? I scored us tickets to the men’s finals for the US Open in a few weeks. If you’ve read this post, you know why this rocks, and therefore, why I rock. Furthermore, I arranged for my in-laws to watch the boys while we go to the match. Again, rockage. I will probably never, ever be able to top this gift. Ever.
Why else? That’s not enough for you? All right. Remember the dress dilemna? Well, yesterday I got a dress, and it rocks. I followed your instructions, and seriously ladies, I think you’ll be proud. I’m hesitant to post a picture though for fear a blog troll might find me and say it sucks, and then I’ll cry. So we may have to wait until after the wedding when it will be too late.
Also, because the store was having a sale, I got 4o% off the dress and then went and conquered shoes and handbag for the wedding as well, all with 40-freaking-% off (I think I got it all for like $150). That’s right - rock! I now own swanky shoes and a matching clutch - that’s what it’s called, right? It’s swanky. And I found them separately even though they’re perfect together.
Oh wait! I just realized there’s more. When I went back to try on the dress a second time I decided to try the size smaller, and it was even better. Hear that? Went back for the smaller size - can’t remember the last time I got to do that. And now I don’t have to have it altered.
And did I mention I rock?
And Happy Birthday, Hubby. You rock.

That’s a HUGE amount of rockage all for one day. Hooray! I know you’re relieved to have found your wedding stuff. Hooray (again)!
Totally looking forward to seeing that dress. The US Open is amazing birthday present.
Jenn
You SOOO rock!
Looking forward to seeing you in that smaller size (rockin’!) dress…
FYI: If it makes you feel better, I’m 3 years older than my husband…there are a glorious two weeks at the end of November wherein we’re a mere two years apart, but for the other 50 weeks, God bless me, please, Mrs. Robinson.
Happy Birthday to your undoubtedly rockin’ husband!
Oh this is great news! I totally need pics!
Steph
Best wife ever, obviously! The Open is so fun!
I knew you rocked so this comes as no surprise to me. You guys are going to have an amazing time at the Open. I’ll watch it on TV and think of you.
You must post a picture of the dress. Don’t be afraid of the trolls. They are just that trolls. Who cares what they say?
fab!! I think we need pictures. Troll-like comments can be deleted or ignored — anyway, we will all come to your rescue and validate how fab the dress is.
Yes, you do rock! A smaller size! Yay!
Wow! That’s a lot of rock-age in one day. Let me bow at your feet, oh Queen of Rock! Like the others I want pictures of the smaller size, perfect dress. Trolls be damned!
I haven’t said it enough in your life time, but you do ROCK. Even without all the accomplishments.
YAY YAY YAY!! Sounds awesome! Can’t wait to see pics of the dress!
I want to see pics too, c’mon.
Oh my goodness. I am one year, three weeks and two days older than my husband and I totally hate that. Some women dig that sort of thing but not me. Apparently not you either!
Yes, you definitely rock on many accounts.
I already knew you rocked. All your currect rockage is just icing on the cake, dear.
PS Happy birthday to your hubby!
(I think like twice in over ten years have I ever gotten my husband something good, and one of those things didn’t count because he *got me exactly the same thing at the same time*. Weird but true.)
I need a little Rocking-ness in my life. Can you rub some off on me? Congrats on all of the great scores. You rock!
Congrats on rocking the dress and the birthday bit… but as a woman who out-olds my beloved by over seven years, I say PIFFLE DEE DEE! It ain’t no thing but a chicken wing!
Congrats on the great gift! What an amazing time you guys will have!

[...] And I apologize for my major blogging/commenting absence lately. With Sam starting school and Hubby having orientation for his new job and us getting ready for this trip/wedding, it’s just been a lot. I’ll be around again as soon as this weekend is over. And yes: assuming there is a decent one to share, I’ll show you a picture of the dress. [...]
